Professor Alvin Wint Appointed New OUR Chairman, effective 2022 March 16.
(KINGSTON, Jamaica; 2022 May 2): Former Chairman of the Generation Procurement Entity (GPE), Professor Alvin Wint has been appointed the new Chairman of the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) by Governor-General, His Excellency, the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen, for five (5) years, effective 2022 March 16.
He succeeds Dr. Derrick McKoy who demitted office in 2022 January to take up the post of Attorney General.
OUR’s Director-General, Mr. Ansord Hewitt has welcomed Professor Wint’s appointment stating, “I have no doubt that, like our previous Chairmen, we will benefit tremendously from Professor Wint’s vast experience, especially given his background in dealing with matters pertaining to the electricity sector.”
