The OUR is embarking on a comprehensive market survey to glean critical statistics on the telecommunications markets in Jamaica for retail services and specifically for fixed telephone access and international calling services. The market survey is expected to provide critical statistical data on consumers’ behavior as well as the market conditions in which carriers and service providers operate within the markets for telecommunications services in Jamaica. The data and information gathered from the market survey will be used to complete a market analysis and review relating to an application by Cable and Wireless Jamaica Limited (C&WJ) for a declaration of non-dominance in markets in which they were declared dominant by the OUR in August 2003.
