(KINGSTON, Jamaica; 2025 July 7):
Registration for the 20th Annual Conference of the Organisation of Caribbean Utility Regulators (OOCUR) has opened. Early bird registration closes on 2025 July 31.
The OOCUR Conference will be held 2025 October 26-29 at the Jewel Grande Resort in Montego Bay, St. James and will host local professionals as well as visitors from other Caribbean islands and further overseas.
This regional event will bring together utility regulators, attorneys-at-law, engineers and other professionals, policymakers, academics, and service providers from Jamaica and across the Caribbean and North America for high-impact dialogue, learning, and collaboration.
With a projected 200 attendees, the OOCUR 2025 Conference will offer a concentrated opportunity to engage with leading minds in our sector. It is a signal event on the calendars of Caribbean utility regulators that the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) was asked to host. OUR last hosted the conference in Jamaica in 2016.
The theme of this premier event for utility regulators is: “Navigating Caribbean Regulatory Challenges: Opportunities, Innovations and Collaborations.”
A call-for-papers for the conference, which closes on 2025 July 31, was put out to participants by OOCUR’s Executive Director, Marsha Atherley-Ikechi, Ph.D. Submissions should reflect the sectoral (water, sewerage, electricity, and telecommunications) focus of the theme. Presentations that touch on other areas relevant to utility regulation are welcome.
